AudioSauna Gets Fresh New Look and New Features!

Each instrument channel has its own color.

The AudioSauna Studio app was just updated to version 0.402 beta. The update brings several improvements, including a revamped new interface, new tools and performance improvements.

Note edit tool in action
The most important thing audio wise is the new Note edit tool, which enables editing note velocity and note cutoff values.

To edit the note's velocity, click on a note and move the mouse up / down. The note's color will change when the velocity changes so it's very easy to spot different values from the background.

Creating a fade out with just one mouse stroke.
You can edit velocities for all notes of the pattern by clicking anywhere on the piano roll's background.

Clicking the background will display a row of lines showing the change in the velocity value.

Just move the mouse around and see how the notes change. Try it with cutoff for your analog baseline and you'll instantly get that classic acid sound. Works like a charm!

The other additions included in the latest update are:
  • Fresh new look and revamped interface
  • Each instrument channel has its own color
  • Alt + Drag a note to create a duplicate
  • Progress bar added for Open Song
  • Improved performance for Open Song and Save Song
  • Improved performance for loading your own Wav and Mp3 sounds to the sampler
  • Audio engine's CPU usage reduced by 5%

  1. A very successful project. For a long time gazing intently on the software. Just add more automation, and I'm happy.

  2. If you could add the property to host other VSTs, it would be great

  3. Hi folks,

it's great, that audiosauna-team works fast to bring us good improvements. It's still very fun to "enhance" waiting time with audiosauna on the road/at a cafe etc.

I had made tipps / whishes some blogentrys ago.

But I still miss one feature, to get that hot pumpin' sound = sidechain and a compressor. I know it's a special whish, but alot musician use that feature to get the bass or pads pumpin.

  5. When will USB Midi Controller connection be made available for audiosauna?
I would use it a lot more if I could use the interface I'm familiar with instead of a laptop keyboard....
    aside from that...great product

  11. Some bugs I'm experiencing - where to get help?

For example, In chrome, when making notes for a new track, lets say 32 bars in, audiosauna always puts the new pattern at the very start of the track. More than once, copying the new pattern a placing it in the right location does not work well. This is really making it hard to use an otherwise totally awesome app!

    1. Are you sure that when you copy the notes you're placing the vertical line (Which slides along the tracks when you press 'play') is at 32 bars? If not, then Audiosauna will automatically find the nearest bar and paste the notes there.

Otherwise it may be that you're making a new section for the same track and getting confused. I still haven't got my head around that bit, it always takes me to the start of the previous section and I loose the notes.

      I hoped this helped

Do contact me if you have any other questions. :)

  17. There's a horrible problem with AudioSauna and it's that it won't let me save. All it does is freeze for a few seconds, and then close the drop down window like I didn't do anything. This is very frustrating...

  18. Is work still being done on this application? I would love to be able to use it as a sound module for my keyboard, but it doesn't seem to work with MIDI/ USB devices.
